The Dawgs finished up their practices for the Dec. 31 Liberty Bowl in Athens on Tuesday with an 80-minute session. Practices will reconvene in Memphis on Dec. 26 after a four day break granted by CMR.  They have had, to date, eight bowl practices, including a pair of two-a-day drills.  (source:  independentmail.com)

Quarterback recruit Christian LeMay, was at practice the past three days, Georgia Coach Mark Richt said Tuesday, however, he will not travel with the team to the Liberty Bowl.  LeMay, at 6 feet 2, 190 pounds, threw for 3,296 yards and 44 touchdowns with two interceptions to lead Butler High School in Matthews, N.C. to a 15-0 record and the state championship as a junior in 2009.  (source:  ajc.com)

Coach Mark Richt said, “I told the team before we got started (Tuesday) that I wanted them to focus for an hour and 20 minutes, and they stayed focused and did a good job. We did scout team work and finished with a one-minute drill where the offense had to go 70 yards for a touchdown. They were able to move the ball well, but the defense held them out in the end. They got the stops.  (Monday) was a good fundamentals day. We treated it like a regular-season Tuesday with a lot of scout team work. We worked mostly on first-and-10 situations and finished up with some third-down work.”  (source:  independentmail.com)

The 6-6 Dawgs clash with the 10-3 UCF Knights, champions of Conference USA, in the Liberty Bowl, on Friday, Dec 31, 2010, on ESPN at 2:30 PM Central Time.
