A “TURENE” OF SOUP TO ADD TO DAWG’S 2011 MENU?????

The Dawgs had a lot of interesting visitors this weekend in Athens, other than the expected Isaiah Crowell and his buddy, Quintavious “Cootie” Harrow. Kent Turene, a 6’3, 230 pound tackling machine from Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, and currently a Southern Cal (USC) commit, spent quite a bit of time investigating the Dawgs and Athens. Rumors were overflowing Saturday night that he has now switched his allegiances to Georgia. However, there has been no formal announcement of the switch. Athens is obviously a lot closer to his home than Los Angeles, and that could possibly have some impact on the young man’s mind. Turene could play either inside or outside linebacker for the Dawgs and it would be totally excellent if we could land him. (source: dawgsports.com)

As part of their visit this weekend, running back Isaiah Crowell and JUCO defensive tackle John Jenkins, who both brought their families, attended Saturday’s basketball game. The crowd chanted both Crowells’ and Jenkins’ names, as well “Dream Team.” I wonder if CMR wandered into the pre-game, before Crowell and Jenkins got there, and orchestrated the chants. If so, way to go Mark! Just do what it takes! (source: dawgsports.com)
