Shortly before signing his letter of intent in front of a large crowd at his Carver High School, Columbus, Georgia, Isaiah Crowell, on a live internet stream on the Ledger-Enquirer.Com, said to a Gabe Wright, “I swear to God this dog is going to pee on me!” Gabe responded, “Hey man, that camera is catching everything!”  Crowell, wearing a black Georgia hat with the traditional Georgia Bulldog head filling up the outline of the State of Georgia on it, sat at the table with three hats before him (Georgia, Alabama and Auburn).  There was no question what Isaiah’s choice was when he raised a solid white Old English Bulldog puppy.  Gabe Wright, sitting next to Crowell, said to the other players “That’s Isaiah’s first dog.”

Crowell admitted when questioned by the press that there was no long thought process on where he was to go.  He had decided long ago to become a Dawg.  He just wanted to wait on the announcement.  He said, “Georgia just felt like home.”  When questioned about the “Dream Team,” he said that he was glad to be part of it and he hoped to “help the team win games.”  Gabe Wright signed with the Auburn War Chickens.

So, here we go, the Dream Team all but intact!   The icing on the cake would be “Big John” Jenkins announcing this coming weekend his intent to go to Athens.

Here are some thoughts regarding the events of the day:

1)      Mark Richt, NO EXCUSES NOW!  You have plenty of ammunition, so now is the time to see if you can aim a gun;

2)      I’m willing to bet that by the first game, Caleb King, with all of his baggage, history and lack of production will be history (either transfer, dismissed from team, or possibly switched to another position);

3)      If CMR plays all this new talent (as green as they will be) Georgia will have a shocking good year;

4)      If CMR red shirts a bunch of these kids, we will have a repeat of 2010 and this will be his last year of coaching the Dawgs.

I have attached a portion of the live audio of this signing day with Crowell and Wright.  Just click on the audio icon to the photo, and enjoy.

GO YOU HAIRY DAMN DAWGS, AND THANK YOU ISAIAH CROWELL!
