LOSE A PAGAN – GAIN A TURENE!

facebooktwitterreddit

Defensive end Jeoffrey Pagan, one of the best defensive ends in this recruiting class, ranked 53rd overall and ranked 8th in his position, elected to go with Tide instead of the Dawgs.  However, on the bright side, Kent Turene (discussed at length in an earlier blog), a 6-foot-2, 225-pound linebacker from Lauderdale Lakes, Fla., decommitted from the USC Trojans and signed yesterday with the Dawgs.  Turene had more than 40 scholarship offers.  Don’t you just know that steam is coming out of the ears of that ex-Tennessee slime bag coach!  (source: AJC.com).   Turene wanted to have some fun with his National Signing Day ceremony. He showed up wearing a Texas Tech cap, but when Turene stepped up to the podium at Boyd Anderson gymnasium yesterday, he surprised everyone by pulling out a a Georgia hat with his name embroidered across the front and announced he would be a Bulldog.  (source: sun-sentinel.com)

Although it’s a shame that we didn’t get both of these talented young men, as between the two we probably got the one we needed the most.  In retrospect, considering one of our biggest defensive recruits, Ray Drew, is an ordained minister, he probably wouldn’t have mixed very well with a PAGAN!  Pagans worship false gods, which of course is why he committed to Nick Saban and the Tide!  That’s my opinion and I’m sticking with it!
