The Bulldogs in the last 11 years have been playing good football. They have beaten Tennessee 8 out of 11 games. Georgia is tied in 1st place with South Carolina. Georgia must beat Florida in order to maintain 1st place position. Georgia is 5-2, 4-1 in conference play. The Bulldogs started the season 0-2, including losing to South Carolina in a heartbreaking fashion in Athens. So what does Georgia needs to do? BEAT FLORIDA! There’s something about the Gators that Georgia just can’t get over the hump. Last time Georgia beat Florida back to back was in the 80′s. Those years were 1988-1989, at that time Steve Spurrier was head coach at Duke. When Steve Spurrier took over Florida in 1990, he changed the complexion of the Florida-Georgia rivalry. If the Bulldogs don’t beat the Gators, this might be the last season for Mark Richt. Mark Richt has been head coach of the Bulldogs since 2001. He has been a great coach, he produced 3 SEC East division titles and won 2 SEC Championships. Fans in Athens wondered if Mark Richt’s time has come and gone. We will see by tomorrow evening.
