Today was Georgia’s homecoming game and the Bulldogs were short of running backs. When the day began you would think this offense won’t score very many points. Georgia two back up running backs made sure the Bulldogs would score as much as they pleased. Georgia beat New Mexico St 63-16. It was just another game in Athens for the Bulldogs. Georgia now won 7 in a row.

It started out slowly for the Bulldogs when back up running back Brandon Harton ran to the endzone for a touchdown then fumbled the ball in the endzone. New Mexico State recovered the ball. Fans now thought it might just be a low scoring game. The Bulldogs did score a touchdown late in the 1st quarter to take a 7-0 lead. Branden Smith of Georgia scored a 56 yard touchdown run to make it 7-0.

In the 2nd quarter, New Mexico State got on the board when Tyler Stampler kicked a 24 yard field goal. Georgia came right back and got a touchdown by Brandon Harton. Brandon Harton scored a 4 yard touchdown run to make it 14-3 Georgia. Georgia scored 42 points in the 2nd quarter. It was enough to know Georgia was going to win this game.

Georgia’s Aaron Murray had a great game, he threw for 238 yards with 5 touchdowns, and NO interceptions. Aaron Murray did not play in the 2nd half at all. In the 2nd half back up quarterback Hutson Mason played his own style of game. Hutson Mason threw for 131 yards with 1 touchdown. New Mexico State now has lost 3 in a row. Georgia’s Brandon Harton played a good game as well. He had 98 rushing yards with 1 touchdown. I don’t know if Mark Richt will use Brandon Harton next week against Auburn. Chris Conley had 5 receptions for 126 yards with 1 touchdown.

Georgia is now 7-2, 5-1 in conference play. New Mexico State Aggies is now 3-6, at one point Aggies had a .500 record. Georgia is now hoping Arkansas can beat South Carolina tonight. If the Razorbacks beat the Gamecocks, Georgia will be in 1st place by themselves.
