Georgia Bulldogs will face the LSU Tigers on Saturday. This will be Georgia’s first SEC Championship game since 2005. Georgia who beat LSU in 2005, will hope to duplicate it again. Georgia finished the season 10-2, 7-1 in conference play. LSU who is rank number 1 is 12-0,8-0 in conference play.

Georgia Bulldogs started the season at 0-2. Then reeled on 10 straight wins to win the SEC East division. The Bulldogs defense since week 1 had greatly improved. After giving up 45 points to South Carolina, the defense has been stymied. Georgia’s defense is ranked 11th in passing with 176.3 per yards and ranked 6th in rushing defense with 94.8 per yards. On the offense, the Bulldogs are ranked 47 in passing with 243.1 per yards. Georgia is ranked 35th in offensive rushing with 180.6 per yards. The one deadly weapon the Bulldogs have is Brandon Boykin. He can run, he has 31 kickoff returns for 731 yards but no touchdowns. His longest kickoff return this year was 60 yards. On his punt returns, he has 24 punt returns for 88 yards but no touchdowns. He is explosive. Brandon Boykin plays defensive back and he has 3 interceptions this season.

Another player on offense that had a stellar year is Aaron Murray. Aaron Murray has threw for 2698 yards with 10 interceptions. He is 202 for 331 completions and has a 61.0 passing percentage rate. Aaron Murray has 32 touchdowns this season, and he has been sacked 24 times. Aaron Murray was counted on when the game was on the line. He showed no mercy and he came through the tough times.

Let’s talk about what the Bulldogs need to do in order win this game. 1, they must stop Jordan Jefferson. 2, let Isaiah Crowell run through the LSU defense. 3, special teams need to make a good run and needs Blair Walsh to kick those field goals. If the Bulldogs can do those three things, then Georgia will have a chance of winning. I hope Mark Richt digs deep in his playbook and calls some creative offensive plays. Maybe the second time around at the Dome, the Bulldogs will be more prepared and more physical than week 1.  If Georgia wins, they would be invited to the Sugar Bowl. This game starts at 4pm on CBS.
