Weekly SEC Upset Alert

Week 1 is upon us, we are now closing in on 24 hours until kick off for college football. We already have some awesome games lined up and set to go not to mention the already hyped up (2) Alabama Crimson Tide v. (8) Michigan Wolverines game in Dallas, TX. Or perhaps either one of the two Chic-Fil-A Kick off games including Auburn and Tennessee. But there is one game in particular that stand out to me as a massive Potential for an Upset this week.

(9) South Carolina Gamecocks @ Vanderbilt Commodores

Now, before we start getting all up in arms saying that the Gamecocks are going to wipe the field with the Commodores – this may be true. In fact, this is in deed probably a mistake for me to make this my Upset Pick of the week with Marcus Lattimore at Running Back, Connor Shaw at Quarterback, Jadaveon Clowny at DE. The Gamecocks are young, quick, and stacked!

However, Vanderbilt is quickly growing. Vanderbilt has the terrible taste in their mouth from how last season ended, and they have winning in their heads. The Commodores have their path set out ahead of them. Vandy could be a legitimate danger this year – and I will keep saying this until their first lost to an SEC team.

Even if Vanderbilt doesn’t win this game, the ‘Dores will definitely keep up with the Gamecocks, and may be hiding a few tricks up their sleeves. Don’t be surprised if the Commodores throw it long and often in this game against South Carolina. Also, don’t forget this game is being played in Nashville, which may give Vanderbilt a bit of a chip on their shoulder. Not to mention this game is being played on a Thursday night. Everything is line for the Commodores to make history, this is their opportunity to make it happen.
