Predictions for Each Week 1 SEC Game

Considering that football starts in less than a few hours its time to go ahead and quickly make some predictions for the upcoming SEC Games. So, let’s get started.

(9) South Carolina Gamecocks @ Vanderbilt Commodores

"Many people have this game marked down for the South Carolina Gamecocks. “Not so fast my friend!” The Commodores are going to be coming out looking to take advantage of all those people thinking that they aren’t good enough to run with the big dogs of the SEC. Vanderbilt will surprise a ton of people, including the South Carolina Gamecocks."

PREDICTION: Vanderbilt 24 – South Carolina 21 (OT)

Texas A&M Aggies @ La-Tech Bulldogs (Postponed)

Tennessee Volunteers v. North Carolina State Wolfpack

"Tennessee’s star – Tyler Bray – will be expected to lead this Volunteer team to victory this season. The Wolfpack is coming of a great final couple games last season, and some huge 4th quarter come backs as the season came to a close."

PREDICTION: Tennessee 21 – NC State 17

Buffalo Bulls @ (6) Georgia Bulldogs

"Let’s be honest for a minute, Georgia is coming off a great season last year that probably saved Mark Richt’s job – at least for another 2 years. But this game is a huge Snoozer! The Bulldogs have got this game, if anyone else tells you that Buffalo is going to win this game, you probably should not listen to them for the rest of the season… just saying."

PREDICTION: Georgia 42 – Buffalo 9

Bowling Green Eagles @ (23) Florida Gators

"Florida’s Defense is going to be amazing this season. Will Muschamp finally has had some time in order to get his team together and really get his gameplan into the mind of his players. This game will be a perfect opportunity for Muschamp to make those key adjustments throughout the game."

PREDICTION: Florida 31 – Bowling Green 10

North Texas Mean Green @ (3) LSU Tigers

"Coming off last year, LSU has the terrible taste in their mouth from the National Championship, and from the whole Tyrann Mathieu situation. LSU is looking for something to build on at the start of this season. This game is important to the Tigers for them to make an identity for themselves with a bunch of question marks coming into this season."

PREDICTION: LSU 42 – North Texas 10

Jacksonville State Gamecocks @ (10) Arkansas Razorbacks

"Just like LSU, Arkansas has had a very distracting offseason. Arkansas needs that game to get things going on the field, and work out all the jitters from the offseason. Arkansas will find their footing in this game, and that should be able to lead the Razorbacks through the rest of the season. I see Arkansas coming out with a win, but not with an overwhelming victory."

PREDICTION: Arkansas 35 – Jacksonville State 10

(14) Clemson Tigers v. Auburn Tigers

"This is going to be a fun game to watch. With Clemson coming in wanting to prove themselves after the total implosion at the end of last season, and Auburn wanting to come back into the SEC with some flair this game will be a good one. Although I’d love to see an SEC team win, I don’t think it is going to happen this time."

PREDICTION: Clemson 28 – Auburn 24

Southeastern Louisiana Lions @ Missouri Tigers

"With Missouri debuting in the SEC, this won’t exactly prove what the Mid-western Tigers can do on the field. The Tigers should come away with an easy win in this football opener. However, if you wanna see how the Tigers can compete with the SEC, you will have to wait until next week when Missouri face Georgia."

PREDICTION: Missouri 45 – Southeastern Louisiana 7

Central Arkansas Bears @ Ole Miss Rebels

"There are just so many question marks for the SEC this season, Ole Miss is not outside of that category. With a new head coach, Ole Miss will be an interesting team to keep an eye on as this season progresses. However, with that being said, Ole Miss is playing Central Arkansas. Ole Miss should win this game."

PREDICTION: Ole Miss 38 – Central Arkansas 9

Jackson State Tigers @ Mississippi State Bulldogs

"Mississippi State, who was rumored to be under investigation by the NCAA, but hopefully that shouldn’t be a problem for Mississippi State in this game. The Bulldogs should be able to start a great season for Dan Mullen who hopefully can get Mississippi State back on track after their mediocre season last year."

PREDICTION: Mississippi State 45 – Jackson State 13

(8) Michigan Wolverines v. (2) Alabama Crimson Tide

"[ESPN Gameday Game – Please see the Preview of the ESPN Game Day Game]"

Kentucky Wildcats @ (25) Louisville Cardinals

"This game is going to be held on Sunday, and is going to be a fun one to watch. With Kentucky expected to come in near the bottom of the SEC, and Louisville expected to come in near the top of the Big East, it would be cool to see Kentucky take em out early. Sadly, though, I doubt Louisville will fall to the Wildcats in this game."

PREDICTION: Louisville 24 – Kentucky 17
