Georgia Tennis Duo Make ITA All Tournament Team
By Danny Bishop
Georgia’s doubles team of junior Garrett Brasseaux and sophomore Nathan Pasha has been named to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships All-Tournament Team, the organization announced Friday evening.
The Bulldog tandem went a perfect 3-0 at No. 2 doubles during Georgia’s stay at National Indoors in Seattle last week, including a win over 25th-ranked Adrian Forberg-Skogeng and William Kallberg of Ole Miss as Georgia went on to post a 4-0 shutout of the Rebels in the round of 16 match-up. Pasha and Brasseaux also defeated third-ranked UCLA’s No. 2 doubles pair – providing the clinching victory there – as well as Kentucky’s. Georgia claimed the doubles point in all three matches.
Pasha and Brasseaux are now 7-1 overall in 2012-13 and 4-0 in dual matches, riding a four-match winning streak. The honor marks the second of its kind for Pasha, who was named to the All-Tournament Team at No. 6 singles as a freshman in 2012.
The No. 8 Georgia men’s tennis team is next in action Sunday, February 24 at 1 p.m. vs. Furman at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex, signaling the start of the outdoor season.
