The fifth-ranked Georgia Bulldogs conducted a 90-minute practice in full pads Saturday morning that signaled the start of a busy day.

Following the workout, the team is scheduled to have lunch and then participate in Family Picture Day. Then in the afternoon, they will head to Sanford Stadium for the annual Fans Picture Day.

“We had another high energy day; it was a good practice,” said Georgia coach Mark Richt. “Today is Picture Day/Family Day so a lot of guys were showing off for their families at practice. It was a good day.”

As for Saturday’s picture day, Alexa Anderson from Covington was the first person in line to pick up a ticket for a photo with Uga IX. She arrived at 11 p.m. Friday night to begin the wait for the 8 a.m. Saturday morning pickup. Timothy Miller from Suwanee arrived at 4 a.m. Saturday to start the line for tickets good for a photo and autograph with head coach Mark Richt. All the tickets for both Uga IX and Coach Richt were gone by 8:07 a.m.

Fan Day will take place in the Reed Plaza area of Sanford Stadium. The Georgia football players will be on hand for photos and autographs from 3-5 p.m. between Gates 2 and 4. Richt will also be available from 3-5 p.m. for those with ticket coupons.

Also on Saturday, the Associated Press preseason top 25 poll was released, and the Bulldogs made their debut at No. 5 while Georgia’s first opponent, Clemson, was No. 8. The No. 5 ranking is Georgia’s best since the 2008 season when it began the year in the top spot.

The Bulldogs open their 2013 schedule on Aug. 31 when they travel to face the Tigers at 8 p.m. The contest, which is 2013’s only season-opening top-10 matchup, will be broadcast nationally on ABC.
