The ninth-ranked Georgia football team, which was idle this past Saturday, returned to the Woodruff Practice Fields on Monday for a two-hour session in full pads.

Georgia (1-1, 1-0) will welcome North Texas on Saturday. The game will kick off at 12:21 p.m. and will be televised by SEC TV. History will be on the Bulldogs’ side against North Texas as Georgia is 14-4 under Coach Mark Richt following an open date.

“Today was not bad considering we were in full pads and were trying to get in that Tuesday type of work in,” Richt said. “Overall, it was a pretty good day. The scouts did a good job of giving us the look we needed. We tackled a little bit and got better there. The guys just need to keep working hard on their assignments.”

Richt said the captains for the North Texas game will be tailback Todd Gurley and quarterback Aaron Murray on offense, linebacker Amarlo Herrera on defense, and cornerback Blake Sailors on special teams.

In other news on Monday, it was announced that the Georgia-LSU game on Saturday, September 28th, will kick off at 3:30 p.m. and will be televised by CBS.
