Talk about a banner weekend for Georgia recruiting, not only did UGA pick up a couple of nice additions to the class of 2015 group, but landed arguably what could be the best 1-2 recruiting punch ever for 2016.

Dawg Day and the weekend following it are always huge for Georgia recruiting, but these commits may have been more than even the biggest Bulldogs fan could have hoped for.

First, 5-star quarterback out of Lake Stevens, Wa. (Lake Stevens HS) Jacob Eason, who 247Sports has ranked as the number two pro-style quarterback in that class, gave his verbal commitment to the Dawgs, and tweeted it out for all to see.

Eason is a 6-foot-5, 205-pound passer who has been blowing away the scouts with his arm as a rising high school junior. He already had offers from Alabama, Notre Dame, Florida, Florida State, Miami, and Michigan among others.

Then as if that wasn’t enough to get the Bulldog Nation fired up, another 5-star player, offensive tackle Ben Cleveland out of Stephens Co. HS, tweeted his commitment to the Dawgs.

The massive Cleveland is another rising junior, checking in at 6-foot-7 and 320 pounds. He’s ranked by 247Sports as the number two player in the state of Georgia and the number three offensive tackle in the nation for 2016.

He was apparently already aware of Eason’s commitment, and pledged his protection to the 5-star QB.

This is a huge start to Georgia’s 2016 class, and it’s the first time the school has ever started with two 5-star commits. Keep your eye on this 2016 UGA class, as it may shape up to be something incredible.
