Georgia Bulldogs Women’s Swim and Dive Tops Scholar AA List
The Georgia Bulldogs women’s swimming and diving team, which won the 2014 national championship, had the most honorees on the Scholar All-America Team announced this week by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.

The Lady Bulldogs registered 11 Scholar All-Americans and added two more to the Honorable Mention list. On the men’s side, the Bulldogs had five Scholar All-Americans (tied for second-most in the country) and two Honorable Mentions.
Recognized for the Lady Bulldogs, who had a team GPA of 3.37, were Hali Flickinger, Lauren Harrington, Maddie Locus, Jordan Mattern, Shannon O’Malley, Courtney Peters, Laura Ryan, Chantal Van Landeghem, Shannon Vreeland, Annie Zhu and Rachel Zilinskas. Olivia Boggs and Anna Neumeister made the Honorable Mention list.
For the Bulldogs, who notched a team GPA of 3.09 and finished fifth at the NCAA Championship, Taylor Dale, Nicolas Fink, Andrew Gemmell, Jared Markham and Ty Stewart are Scholar All-Americans and Derek Onken and Christian Riess were picked as Honorable Mentions.
To be chosen as a Scholar All-American, the swimmer or diver must have had a 3.5 or higher GPA and have competed at the NCAAs. Honorable Mention selections had 3.5 GPAs and did not compete at the NCAAs.
