Number 1 – It’s Tech

On October 13, 1885, the 84 members of the first Georgia School of Technology class invaded the sacred lands that lay between Rabun Gap and Tybee Light; the day continues to live in infamy.

A mere hour drive from Athens, Tech dares to rest in the heart of the Bulldog Nation. Bobby Dodd Stadium at Historic Grant Field has the gall to squat at the foot of “the hills of Georgia’s Northland”.

Georgia is forced by cruel fate to live with Tech as it’s neighbor; Tech burps, we hear it.

Tech is the in-state rival and the final opponent in the most sacred of all sports seasons.

Only one team in the state can have the ultimate right to brag, and no one anywhere – no one – brags like Tech, and do we ever know. When the days are darkest, Bulldog ears overflow with the bellow and screech of tech bragging. Which brings us to reason Number 2.
