Phil Steele predicts Georgia Bulldogs, Michigan State Spartans in Peach Bowl

Ah, preseason predictions – the joy (or bane) of every football fan’s preparation for the upcoming season. And nobody is better at making college football predictions than Phil Steele.

More from Georgia Football

Steele’s publication, read by literally millions of journalists and fans, predicts how conferences will finish, records of teams, individual performances, and – of course – the Bowl games.

In this year’s Bowl and College Football Playoff game predictions, Mr. Steele has predicted that the Georgia Bulldogs will face a fairly common postseason opponent, Michigan State, in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.

Now normally this might be a big of a slighting towards Georgia, especially when there are SEC and national title hopes being whispered about (again) in Athens. But the Peach Bowl has become one of the premier bowls in college football, and will be part of the rotation for playoff games.

So while it’s not a prediction for Georgia to head to Pasadena or New Orleans, where the Rose and Sugar Bowls will be hosting semifinal playoff games, it’s still a nod that the Bulldogs are right in the mix.

Michigan State and Georgia commonly mirror each other in the polls, predictions and records – and Georgia has met the Spartans three times in bowl games, going 2-1, with the most recent being a 33-30 loss in the 2012 Outback Bowl.

Here are the complete bowl predictions as laid out by Phil Steele
