Prize in-state Georgia football commitments featured online Friday night, September 5

Sunday mornings are for church and Fall Friday nights are for high school football. If you don’t plan to catch the pep bus to your school’s big game – or maybe you’ve been spared band chaperone duties this week – you might consider taking advantage of a little modern technology.

Fire up the laptop and catch some in-state talent while considering its future impact on that Saturday afternoon religion we call Georgia Football.

NFHS Network will again offer Bulldog fans with a chance to check out the future of the Bulldog football program on Friday night when three prize in-state Georgia football commitments take the field.

Can I get an Amen?

More from Georgia Football Recruiting

Put a red circle around Heard County vs. Callaway at 7:00 PM Friday. Prize Georgia commit Terry Godwin and Callaway steps down a classification to take on Heard County. Both teams are lightly regarded.

Godwin is the top Rivals.com rated athlete in Georgia and a Rivals number 8 national recruit.

To watch perhaps a less scintillating player, but perhaps a better football game, change over to Lovett vs. Marist at 7:30 Friday. Maxpreps ranks both teams fourth in their classification – Marist in AAAA and Lovett in AA. Georgia offensive tackle commitment Sage Hardin will pave the way for the Marist attack. Marist was the only one of four DeKalb County teams to win in last week’s four-game Battle of the Borders with Florida, accumulating 296 yards rushing in the process, so ignore the classification difference.

Hardin is a Rivals three star OT recruit. With a listed height of 6’6”, he projects as a tackle at the college level.

Tucker High School’s Jonathan Ledbetter will make an encore appearance on the NFHS Network as the Tigers roll the short distance to visit Stone Mountain High School. Tucker is a very good football team that has faced stiff competition in its first two games. Stone Mountain on the other hand is lightly regarded. The Tucker vs. Stone Mountain broadcast begins at 8:00 PM Friday, perfect timing for those trying to get a peek at all three Georgia commitments.

Ledbetter is a rivals four star DE and number 6 recruit in Georgia.

Times listed are broadcast times, not kickoff. Dawn of the Dawg has checked for injuries or other reasons one of these players will not compete this Saturday. If you have contrary knowledge, let us know, and thank you.
