Cedar Shoals and Clarke Central will renew the Classic City’s battle of Athens while up Highway 441 Jefferson and Commerce will fight it out in one of the state’s oldest and fiercest rivalries.

Lines are drawn in Sunday School classes while squabbles are settled between East Paulding and South Paulding, Effingham and S. Effingham, North Hall and West Hall.

Dawn of the Dawg couldn’t possibly name every big game – it’s just another fall Friday night in Georgia.

If you won’t brave the body paint and drum lines, crank the laptop a couple of times and tune in to watch a few of the Georgia Bulldog football prize recruits on the NFHS Network.

At 7:30 Jonathan Ledbetter and his Tucker Tigers will make a third straight appearance on the NFHS Network when the Tigers travel to Lithonia to face M. L. King. After battling two of the best teams in the country the first two games of the season, Tucker crushed an out-manned Stone mountain team last week. M. L. King also appears to be over matched so tune in to this game early.

Ledbetter is a 6’3” 272 pond rivals four star defensive end and is the Rivals number 6 recruit in Georgia.

At 7:30, Georgia offensive tackle commitment Sage Hardin and Marist will entertain the visiting Arabia Mountain. Marist is 2- 0 against stiff competition and Arbia Mountain has suffered two drubbings. Harden and Marist appearing on the NFHS Network for the second time this season.

Hardin is a Rivals three star offensive line recruit. With a listed height of 6’6”, Hardin projects as a tackle at the college level.

Also in the 7:30 time slot, Justin Young and Archer will face visiting Grayson at Archer. While Grayson is undefeated and Archer is winless, this game appears to be the best of the three.

Young is a 6’3” 255 pound defensive end recruit.
