The true freshman started his second game in place of Todd Gurley. Of Georgia’s 37 rushes,  Chubb ran the ball 30 times for a career-high 202 yards (6.7 avg.) and a career-high two touchdowns. Chubb has accumulated 345 yards and three touchdowns in Georgia’s two consecutive road wins with Gurley sidelined.

Chubb remarked on his work load to Georgiadogs.com. “I feel good; I have to do it. We are down on backs and I have to step up. Everything has been great over the last two weeks and I’m ready to run some more. I’m getting way more comfortable. I have help coming in sooner or later, but until then, I’m ready for it.”

After Hutson Mason confounded the Arkansas defense with passes on nine of Georgia’s first 13 plays for 106 yards, Chubb eventually ran 12 times for 127 yards (10.6 avg.) and two scores in the first half, leading Georgia to a 38-6 halftime advantage.  He is the first true freshman to reach 200 yards rushing for the Bulldogs since Rodney Hampton in 1987.

The Cedartown, GA, native now joins Georgia’s Herschel Walker and Hampton in Georgia’s most exclusive running back fraternity as only the third freshman to rush for 200  or more yards in a game.

The No. 9 Bulldogs (6-1, 4-1 SEC) are off this Saturday.  They return to action against Florida (3-3, 2-3) in Jacksonville on Nov. 1.  CBS will televise the game at 3:30 p.m.
