It’s all but certain that Georgia Bulldogs tailback Todd Gurley is going to enter the NFL Draft next spring, so which NFL teams are likely to take him?

OK, I think the entire Bulldog Nation has come to grips with the fact that Todd Gurley will not be breaking off huge runs, and leveling defenders between the hedges next season. He’s moving his game calendar to Sundays now.

Prior to tearing his ACL against Auburn, Gurley was a sure-fire bet to be taken in the Top 10 of the 2015 NFL Draft. The injury setback that prematurely ended his season and his career at Georgia may cost him some draft spots, and a chunk of change in his first contract, but he’ll still likely go in the first round.

Running backs have been somewhat devalued by NFL teams in recent history, proven by the fact that no running back has been taken in the first round of the draft since 2012.

But these things are cyclical, and some teams are already returning to a more smashmouth type of football, with bruising backs pounding between the tackles and jump-cutting their way around the ends.

Fit’s Gurley’s game to a tee.

Lots of teams need running backs, but not all of them will utilize a featured back like Gurley. His talent would be wasted in a Bill Belichick coached team, or any other system that goes with more of a back-by-committee approach.

So with all this in mind, I want to explore the five NFL teams who are most likely to pick Gurley in the 2015 NFL Draft.
