Georgia tennis ace Nathan Pasha and Team USA claim Master’s U BNP

Rising Bulldog tennis senior Nathan Pasha won three matches at the Master’U BNP Paribas tournament in Rennes, France and his Team USA won a fourth straight title.

Pasha lifted the Team USA into the semi-finals with a doubles win.The Georgia tennis star then claimed a hand in half of Team USA’s points in a 4 – 3 victory over Russia, winning in both singles and a doubles. Pasha and his teammates defeated Ireland, Russia, and host France on their way to the championship, with Pasha winning three matches.

The Master’U BNP Paribas is an international collegiate team competition featuring eight teams of college and university players from around the world. Pasha was joined on the men’s side by Virginia’s Thai Kwiatkowski and Wake Forest’s Noah Rubin. Women’s competitors were UCLA’s Robin Anderson and Chanelle Van Nguyen and Virginia’s Julia Elbaba on the women’s side.

 
Teams from the United States, Belgium, China, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland and Spain faced each other in the tournament consisting of singles, doubles and mixed doubles matches.

Lauren Herring of the Georgia women’s tennis team helped the U.S. squad to the championship with a win over Russia a year ago. Wil Spencer was a part of the U.S. squad that won the event in

Pasha finished his junior year with a of 28-14 in singles record, tied for the second-most wins on the team . Finishing ranked No. 30 in singles, Pasha captured All-America honors by advancing to the NCAA singles round of 16. Pasha went 14-4 this fall with wins at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships and the ITA Southeast Regional Championships. Pasha continues to represent the Dawg Netters on all fronts. He is co-president of the UGA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), is one of 11 UGA student-athletes inducted into the UGA Student-Athlete Leadership Academy (L.E.A.D.) , and earned a place on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll.
