The Georgia Bulldogs football Class of 2015 just got another important commitment.

Special teams are as important as anything (as Georgia has unfortunately found out in the past), and so the news that a High School All-American kicker is committing to Georgia is not a piece of news to be overlooked.

#TeamKicker for the Bulldogs will always be something that coaches will want to find top prospects to fill.

Looks like they’ve found another great one.

Sprayberry HS and U.S. Army All-American Rodrigo Blankenship tweeted out on Monday that he was officially going to make Athens the place where he’ll split the uprights.

Per a report from Dawgs247.com, Blankenship will join the team as a preferred walk-on in 2015, and then in 2016, when Marshall Morgan’s eligibility is complete, he can take the scholarship vacated when Morgan leaves.

Blankenship is rated as a 2-star prospect and as the No. 9 kicker in the country according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Having a year to work with and learn from Morgan will be a huge benefit to Blankenship, and the big leg from Marietta can get used to the college experience and adjust to life with the Bulldogs.
