Georgia Lady Bulldogs Season-Opening Streak Ended by Seton Hall
The Georgia Lady Bulldogs season opening streak has ended at 12 games, after being crushed by Seton Hall on Sunday.

The run was great while it lasted, but as they say, all good things must come to an end, and end the Lady Dawgs streak did do. Seton Hall (12-1) went on a 25-2 run in the second half to convincingly beat Georgia, 70-51.
Georgia (12-1) trailed for most of the first half, but was able to go on a run that actually saw them take the lead with just over 12 minutes remaining in the game. It was at that point that the Pirates took over, and simply shut down the Dawgs for the remainder of the game.
“Seton Hall beat us the way they’ve beaten everyone,” head coach Andy Landers said via GeorgiaDogs.com. “They shot the 3-ball, they penetrated and they got to the line. We didn’t do a good job of stopping any of those. We knew they would be hard to guard, but we continually had breakdowns that put us in bad positions.”
Tiaria Griffin led four Lady Bulldogs, scoring 16 points, with Merritt Hempe adding 13 and Pachis Roberts scoring 11. Krista Donald came down with a game-high 13 rebounds.
This loss shouldn’t set off any huge alarms for fans, but Georgia will have to play more consistently against top teams as conference play begins, and this is the toughest opponent the Lady Bulldogs have faced to date.
The Lady Bulldogs return to the court on Friday with their conference opener at Mississippi State, scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. ET tip-off. Next Sunday, Georgia will host Alabama in their SEC home opener at 1 p.m. at Stegeman Coliseum.
