Georgia Recruiting: Bulldog fans should relax about Terry Godwin

Terry Godwin is the most prized recruit in Georgia’s 2015 class, so it’s only natural that fans would get worried when he makes visits to other schools.

Yes, 5-star athlete and Georgia commit Terry Godwin made an official visit to Alabama.

Yes, Nick Saban and his staff did everything within their power to show him how wonderful things were in Tuscaloosa.

Yes, Godwin has take official visits to several schools since committing to Georgia last January.

Georgia fans, allow me to quote Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers…

Even after a visit with the Alabama staff and players that Godwin characterized as a 9-out-of-10, and having a sit down with Saban in his home, and all the trophies, rings, and banners shown to the Hogansville, Ga. product, Godwin had this to say, according to Dawgs247.com.

“I am still committed to Georgia. I am one hundred percent Georgia.”

Now that doesn’t mean the chance of Godwin flipping to Alabama or Auburn or any of the other possible schools on his list doesn’t exist, it just means that he wasn’t impressed enough after his official visit to those schools to turn his back on the Bulldogs.

Recruiting is a process, and for a 5-star prospect like Godwin, it can be a very long and involved one. There are tons of things for him to weigh in his mind, and I think Georgia fans should be pleased that he is taking the time to get all the information processed so that he can make the best decision for his future.

Godwin even announced that his his cancelling his last official visit, which was to be to Texas A&M (sorry, coach Sumlin) and may come back for another unofficial visit to Georgia.

So don’t let all the noise and fancy headlines about Godwin possibly flipping get into your brain. He’s still Georgia’s commit to lose, and hasn’t wavered on that one bit.
