(Since you asked, no, Oosterbaan is not related to Michigan football legend Bennie Oosterbaan, the three time football, baseball and basketball Wolverine letterman from 1925-1927.)

“It was a good start to the tournament for Paul, and he played a couple of great matches,” said head coach Manuel Diaz told Georgiadogs.com.

Senior Nick Wood and freshman Emil Reinberg also won their opening round matches. Wood downed TCU’s Trey Daniel 6-4, 6-7, 6-4, and Reinberg beat Oklahoma State’s Julian Cash 6-4, 6-4. Wood and Reinberg failed on their oen resume building opportunities, the ITA 104 ranked Wood falling to LSU’s 91 ranked Justin Butsch and Reinberg falling to USC’s 61 ranked Max De Vroome, both by 6-1 scores in the third set.
