Georgia Football lands two offensive playmakers
Signing day is over, but Georgia football keeps bringing in new commits.
Justin Shaffer, an offensive guard, and Tyler Catalina, an offensive tackle, both committed to play for Georgia on Monday, fulfilling Kirby Smarts outspoken need for the 2016 signing class.

With the departure of John Theus (OT), Kolton Houston (OT), and Hunter Long (C), Catalina and Shaffer will be especially beneficial to Georgia as they rebuild their offensive line.
Shaffer is a 6-foot-5, 330-pound offensive guard out of Cedar Grove, Georgia. He is ranked as a three-star recruit and had originally committed to Louisville, but he received an offer from the Bulldogs two weeks ago and scheduled a visit soon after. Seeing as many recruiting experts believed his commitment to Louisville was solid, he was the biggest surprise of the two commits landed on Monday.

Catalina is a 6-foot-5, 315-pound offensive tackle. He is a fifth-year graduate transfer from Rhode Island who had offers from Auburn and Florida and was previously committed to Iowa State. This commit brings experience to the team and will likely be a plug-and-play starter, much like defensive star Jake Ganus was this past season.
Both players will be positive additions for the Bulldogs moving forward. They will join four-star offensive tackle Ben Cleveland, three-star offensive tackle Chris Barnes, and three-star offensive tackle Solomon Kindley in this year’s recruiting class.
