One of the top prospects in the class of 2017 paid the Georgia Football program a huge complement this week. UGA fans sure hope this prediction comes to fruition.

DeAngelo Gibbs, a 5-star cornerback from Loganville, Ga., has been highly recruited by everyone and is being chased desperately by the University of Georgia. Gibbs commented on one of his top college choices in UGA in an interview with 247 Sports,

“They are on me hard. I like them a lot. They are recruiting me very hard. Kirby Smart is coming in and recruiting the state hard, he is from down there in Georgia. I am from Georgia – it is in my backyard. I can go there anytime.”

Gibbs followed up by giving a huge prediction about the program’s trajectory,

Kirby Smart is building something special at Georgia, and in a couple of years, I think he will get the Bulldogs that championship.”

There are multiple recruits that see the Bulldogs in the same light. Just look at UGA’s 2017 class (and latest addition Matt Landers) as it stands right now.

Gibbs’ commitment would only add to the talent that has verbally announced they will make Athens their collegiate destination. Gibbs is a great athlete and a guy that UGA defensive coordinator Mel Tucker will love to have play for his defense.

Gibbs comment on UGA winning a national title under Smart has to be encouraging for Bulldog fans. Will it happen? Maybe it will; maybe it won’t, but the Georgia faithful has to feel good about their team’s positive momentum.
