Class of 2017 prospect D’antne Demery is going to announce where he is going to play college football on Wednesday. The 6-5, 319 pound, 4-star offensive tackle has offers from schools across the country, but the two primary contenders are Alabama and the in-state Georgia Bulldogs.

Demery hails from Brunswick, Ga., where he plays for Brunswick High School. UGA offensive line coach Sam Pittman has been getting after the recruits, and Demery is no exception. Pittman has been the primary recruiter of Demery and desperately wants him to join the team at left tackle.

Demery loves Alabama for who they are. After all, the Crimson Tide are on top of college football, and Demery loves their coaches. He grew up an Alabama fan as a child. However, he also loves the in-state Bulldogs as well and sees this being a big-time 2017 class for Smart and Co.

A huge factor that could sway Demery to Georgia is that his family is in love with the school. His mother particularly loves UGA. Combine that with the great coaches and being close to home, and you’ve got a tough decision on your hands.

Demery would be a welcome addition to Athens. He’s a big-framed, strong guy who is physical and can dominate defenders. He’s a guy that UGA head coach Kirby Smart can rely on to protect the blindside of his quarterback.

Demery would be a vital addition towards building up the offensive line depth that has been somewhat depleted. From that perspective alone, it would be very encouraging to land him and will certainly make Wednesday’s decision all the more interesting.
