The four-star offensive lineman from Brunswick announced Wednesday that he will attend the University of Georgia. He is one of the Bulldogs’ biggest additions to their 2017 recruiting class, which now sits at 11 members.

Standing at 6-foot-5, 319 pounds, Demery was a highly-touted recruit. He received offers from around the country. Michigan, Arkansas, Auburn, Kentucky and Tennessee all offered Demery a scholarship, according to 247 Sports.

His top two, Georgia and Alabama, were clear by the time he’d planned to officially commit, though. Most people expected Demery to choose the Bulldogs over the Crimson Tide, so his announcement did not come as much of a shock.

Netori Johnson and Justin Shaffer, four- and three-star offensive linemen from Cedar Grove, previously committed to the Bulldogs. The addition of Demery means Georgia’s offensive line should remain one of the SEC’s best for years to come. Judging by his tweet following Demery’s announcement, it appears the Bulldogs’ offensive line coach Sam Pittman is excited to work with this new crop of talent:

Demery’s decision followed the Golden Isles satellite camp, which was held at Brunswick High School. Pittman attended the camp as well.

Though Kirby Smart helped close out the recruiting season for the class of 2016, the class of 2017, which has been dubbed #SicEm17 by the program, is really his first class at Georgia. The new recruiting class already includes four-star safety Richard LeCounte III, four-star quarterback Jake Fromm, four-star cornerback William Poole III and now Demery.

So far, so good.
