Georgia took it on the chin this weekend at Ole Miss, and Tennessee had a huge win over then-No. 19 Florida. The AP poll reflected this.

The AP Top 25 Poll was released on Sunday, and Georgia fell to No. 25 after being at No. 12 the week before. Tennessee is now No. 11 in the nation after their aforementioned win over rival Florida.

Alabama stayed at No. 1 after looking very impressive (albeit against Kent State) last week. Ohio State stays at No. 2 after a bye week. Louisville comes in at No. 3 after handling business against Marshall on Saturday. Michigan comes in at No. 4 (where they were last week) after a 49-10 shellacking of Penn State. At No. 5 is Clemson, who has arguably the best quarterback in college football in Deshaun Watson, who destroyed Georgia Tech in Atlanta last week. The rest of the top ten is Houston, Stanford, Wisconsin, Texas A&M and Washington.

The SEC got seven teams in the poll, which was (again) the best of any conference.

The rest of the AP Top 25 read as follows: Tennessee, Florida State, Baylor, Miami, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Michigan State, Utah, San Diego State, Arkansas, TCU, Texas, Florida, Boise State and our Georgia Bulldogs.

More from Dawn of the Dawg

There will be more games that affect the AP Top 25 this week including (most notably) a matchup between No. 5 Clemson and No. 3 Louisville, which will not only be a huge factor in the ACC race but in the playoff hunt as well. The answer to which teams are a contender or pretender is becoming more evident each passing week.
