Georgia is officially halfway through the 2016 season. Here are the top two disappointing players so far.

While Georgia is not in bad shape at 4-2, they have had multiple players that have been major disappointments. However, two players in particular stand out. They are wide receiver Terry Godwin and outside linebacker Lorenzo Carter.

Then again, the receiving corps as a whole have been subpar all season. Godwin has been the biggest disappointment of the group. Godwin looked poised to establish himself as the true No. 1 wide receiver at the end of last year. However, he has not stepped up. Sure, he’s currently second in receiving yards at Georgia in 2016, but that is very deceiving as the receiving corps as a whole has underachieved so much so far.

After all, Godwin only has 179 receiving yards so far, and that is unacceptable. Godwin is not that fast, he does not have amazing hands, he is not a deep threat, and he is just not that good period in my opinion. He can play better than he is right now though.

On the other side of the ball, Carter was supposed to be the guy that was supposed to be the primary pass rusher this year. Carter was a 5-star defensive end coming out of high school and promised great things. Carter is an athletic freak; his 6-6, 242 pound frame is intimidating, and he has the raw talent to be a star when he moves on from UGA.

However, while Carter has not been bad, he has been a disappointment overall in his UGA career particularly this year. Like, I have said he has not been awful, but he has gotten lost at times this season and has not pressured the quarterback near enough. Many thought he would break out this season. So far he has not.

Hopefully, these two players will improve as the season goes on. They better. Georgia needs these guys to step up.
