1st half

This game looked to be a disaster early for Georgia. Not even 2 minutes into the game, Yante Maten left the game with a knee injury. Mike Edwards took his place and did a very good job. Good defense kept Georgia in the game. They went back and forth in a low scoring 1st half. The half ended on a buzzer beating 3 pointer, hit by J.J. Frazier. It was so deep that Dick Vitale said he hit it from Atlanta. Kentucky went to the locker room up 33-31.

2nd Half

This game continued to go back and forth. J.J. Frazier kept Georgia in this game making shot after shot. Georgia’s defense played very well in this game. Pape Diatta hit a huge 3 for Georgia to take a 3 point lead with just over 4 minutes left. De’Aaron Fox tied the game at 73 with a lay up with 1:09 left. Then, Frazier hit a floater with :54 seconds left. Bam Adebayo blocked a shot from Diatta with :27 left. Georgia fouled Fox, who hit both free throws and put Kentucky up 77-75. Kentucky hit their last 16 free throws to ice the game away.

Player of the Game

De’Aaron Fox was the player of the game. He hit a ton of free throws to ice the game away for Kentucky. When the game was on the line, he had the ball and made the play.

Although they lost the game, UGA fans can at least feel proud of how hard the team played today. Even after the loss of Maten, they team played their heart out and nearly overcame a more talented opponent. It was also by far the loudest crowd of the year at Stegeman Coliseum and the team certainly responded.
