Earlier this month the rumors that J.J. Holloman would be a two-for-one deal were confirmed. His brother Layfeatte Holloman Jr. is joining Georgia football this June.

The wide receiver position was not a strength for Georgia football last season. So in response, the Bulldogs signed four receivers. Three of which are were four-star players according to 247 Sports.

Jeremiah Holloman and Mark Webb highlighted that group as 247 Sports had both receivers in the top 150. Holloman is already on campus and he had an impressive performance for the Red Team at the G-Day Game.

The rest of Georgia’s signees will join the team later this year. But one more receiver is joining that group. Layfeatte Holloman Jr., the older brother of Jeremiah Holloman will join Georgia football this June as a preferred walk-on. That makes five new faces at wide receiver this season, six when you count Mecole Hardman who is moving to the position.

Layfeatte, who goes by the nickname L.J. like his brother goes by J.J., was originally a sought-after recruit in 2016. But because of his grades, many teams lost interest. Instead of going to play junior college ball, he focused on his school work.

He’s been taking online classes for the past year so when he joins the Bulldogs, he’ll be a sophomore academically. But he’ll still be a freshman on the field because he is yet to play a down of college football.

You have to admire L.J.’s commitment to focus on his school work so he can achieve his dream of playing college football with his brother at the highest level. If he can translate that same commitment and determination to the football field, he’ll be in for a great college career.

Georgia football has a great history of having brothers play together. The brothers that come to mind the most are the Stinchcomb’s (Matt and Jon) and Bailey’s (Ronald, Champ, and Boss, they also had a cousin, Ken, who played with Boss). The Holloman’s could be the next great set of brothers to play between the hedges.
