Georgia Basketball Forward Yante Maten will return to the Georgia basketball program for his Senior season. This is good news for the Dawgs as they could be not only contenders in the SEC, but a potential tournament team as well.

Yante Maten is the 6’8 Forward from Pontiac, Michigan, was phenomenal last season as he really broke out as a Junior. He averaged 18.6 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game. Maten was a 1st team All-SEC selection.

Coach Mark Fox maybe the most excited about this news. This team has the chance to be one of the best he’s coached. With the return of Maten, Fox should make the NCAA tournament and cool off his hot seat for the time being.

I’m going to give you all my super optimistic predictions for next year. I see Georgia being a top 4 seed in the SEC Tournament, giving them a double bye, and them being in the conference title game. Maten will win the SEC Player of the Year. Georgia will make the Sweet 16. So Yante, thanks for returning to dawg nation… Now just go out there and ball so that I’m not eating my words in 9 months!
