Georgia Football stepped up this week to reward one of their top recruiters.

Dell McGee has been one of UGA’s top recruiters the past few years. He was instrumental in getting top RB D’Andre Swift to join in the 2017 class. McGee has also been the lead recruiter for Zamir White, the generational talent Georgia Football hopes to commit next week. According to the report by dawgnation.com’s Seth Emerson, McGee’s salary has increased to $350,000.

He has also received a 2 year deal rather than the one year contract most college assistant coaches sign. This additional security can’t be underestimated for an assistant coach. It’s also very well deserved. McGee has been a tireless recruiter for Georgia since he started and this is a good move from Kirby Smart before Zamir White’s commitment. It shows a level of confidence in McGee before the decision is made and clearly shows that Smart supports his staff. McGee has also been working alongside Smart and others to bring in QB Justin Fields. It’s this sort of effort which is why he is considered to be one of the top recruiters on UGA’s staff.

Fingers crossed the man they call Zeus joins McGee next Tuesday. It would be a fitting reward for a coach who has given it his everything to bring White to Athens.
