The Georgia Football team went out to Camp Sunshine to spend some time in the community.

Camp Sunshine has been a place the Georgia Football team has gone to several times in the past. Kirby Smart and the coaches took the team again this past week to spend some time in the community. As always, The Georgia video department were there to take a pretty awesome video from their time there:

It’s always nice to see this sort of thing happen. I was on dawgnation forum about a month ago and read an interesting comment by their reporter Jeff Sentell. He had spoken to a lot of recruits and he asked them what sort of message was Kirby Smart trying to sell them on. The consistent message that Smart had told all of them was simple. ‘If you commit to Georgia, when you get here, it’s not about you, it’s about Georgia. The school, the team, the people, the community.’

To me, that’s the kind of message that has an impact on the type of recruits you want in your program. A football team is a brotherhood of more than 100 people and they need that sort of unity. It’s great to see so many of the players volunteer to go to camp sunshine and spend some time alongside these kids. That’s exactly the kind of community activity fans love to see.
