Georgia Football has it’s sights on getting a commitment from another top instate receiver.

If Kearis Jackson is Georgia Football’s top target at receiver for the 2018 class, Marquez Ezzard has to be a to be a close second. Ezzard is a teammate of defensive end Brenton Cox at Stockbridge in Georgia and is an explosive athlete. He is a bit more raw than Jackson but he absolutely has the athletic ability to be an impact player on Saturdays. Ezzard tweeted today that he is ready to announce his commitment soon:

Georgia has been seen as the leader here for some time, but there are several other top schools in play. Both Florida and Florida State are right in there for him as a player. Also, don’t rule out South Carolina. Will Muschamp continues to do a good job recruiting players and Ezzard’s talent would likely stand out in Columbia.

That being said, I still like Georgia’s chances here. He is a very raw talent and he needs some time to develop alongside other skilled receivers. Georgia’s wide receivers coach James Coley has been praised as one of the top guys in the SEC at the moment. He’s one of UGA’s best recruiters as well as a great coach. It seems like Ezzard is one of the guys he really wants in 2018. If that’s the case, hopefully that means some good news is heading Georgia’s way soon.
