With the season inching closer, I’m going to preview each of the 12 games Georgia Football will have in 2017.

Well guys, here we are. the BIG one. When Georgia Football play the Florida Gators on October 28th, the East will be decided. Not to underestimate teams like Tennessee or Missouri, but for me, either Florida or UGA will win the East. Therefore I really think whoever wins this game will end up going to Atlanta. This is the biggest game of the season for Kirby Smart. So let’s learn a bit about the Florida Gators in 2017.

Who were they in 2016?

2016 was a decent year for the Florida Gators. They started the season off well before falling to a then SEC East favorite Tennessee 38-28. I’m sure no Georgia fans need to be reminded abut the 24-10 loss the dawgs suffered to the gators last year. It was never really a close game. Florida were clearly stronger and the UGA offense were never able to get anything going against a stout gator defense.

Despite dropping the following game to Arkansas, the Tennessee collapse as the season went on meant that the East belonged to Florida. Their surprise victory over LSU in Baton Rouge also helped seal them a place in Atlanta. They were blown out by both Florida State and Alabama in the SEC title game but that was to be expected. Both teams were much better than the Gators in 2016. They finished their season with a dominating 30-3 victory over Iowa in the Outback Bowl.

Florida”s team was led by their defense in 2016. They finished in the top 10 in the nation in almost every defensive category. That unit won the Gators an awful lot of games.
