We’ve got a great matchup of ranked women’s basketball teams tonight in Knoxville, Tenn., between Georgia and Tennessee. Simple question here:

Georgia and Tennessee have an interesting rivalry. The No. 6 Lady Vols own the overall series 41-15, but those 15 losses to UGA are the most to any school in the SEC. The No. 15 Lady Dogs (12-2 overall, 1-0 in SEC) will go for the 16th win in Knoxville starting at 7 p.m. EST. Meet this year’s version of Orange Crush.

A few Wednesday night notes on Georgia football recruiting while assuming this isn’t on Kris Humphries’ birthday gift wish list:
- Yuri Wright, a New Jersey cornerback ranked 40th on ESPNU’s Top 150, is back on Georgia’s radar after rescheduling a visit to Athens.
- Keith Marshall gets ready for his final game as a high schooler.
- Could running back Mike Davis be leaning to UGA? And is he a “jersey diva”?
We’ll have a Know Thy Enemy for the Georgia-Tennessee women’s basketball game up tomorrow morning. Night, all.
I don’t know about you, but I started looking forward to the 2012 Georgia football season the second that last field goal attempt hit the Michigan State defender’s hand on Monday. Let’s look ahead and tell us:
Poll: Outback Bowl aftermath
Have you recovered enough to answer a quick poll question? Here you go:

Great first half. Complete opposite second half.
No, this isn’t a repeat of the SEC title game wrap-up, but a new second-half nightmare for the Georgia football team. The Bulldogs were dominant in the first half, but eventually fell to Michigan State 33-30 in triple overtime Monday in a wild 2012 Outback Bowl in Tampa.

Thoughts on the first half of the Outback Bowl while trying to figure out how Brandon Boykin did that:
- For the gamblers out there, I hope you took the under on this game. What a defensive showcase.
- The Bulldogs’ defense was dominant early. Georgia had three tackles for loss out of Michigan State’s eight offensive plays in the first quarter. Alec Ogeltree had a sack and one big solo stop of the Spartans’ Keith Nichol on a running playin the period. Then it was clutch in the second quarter, with big third down pass breakups on consecutive Michigan State drives by Branden Smith and Bacarri Rambo. And all that despite a relatively quiet game from Jarvis Jones. Great work from UGA’s secondary so far today.
- As good as the Dawgs were collectively, Michigan State defensive end William Gholston was equally as dominant by himself, getting multiple tackles for loss and a fumble recovery. Looked like he was doing most of his damage from right end, away from Georgia’s All-SEC left tackle Cordy Glenn.
- All things considered, Aaron Murray might be having his best game of the season. As is Tavarres King. And Boykin. UGA just has too many playmakers in all three facets today for Michigan State to handle right now.

Wow. It seems like just yesterday that we were watching Boise State pull away from the Bulldogs in the
season opener and listening to people speculate on changes in Athens. Now, the young Dawgs have the SEC East title on their resume and you’d be hard-pressed to find a team with a brighter future than Georgia.
There is still one last of business for No. 18 Georgia to take care of today, though: the Outback Bowl in Tampa at 1 p.m. EST against No. 12 Michigan State. What kind of challenge does the invaders from Lansing bring to the Bulldogs’ backyard? Let’s find out. And also check out our other game preview here.

For four Georgia Bulldogs, the Outback Bowl will be their second-to-last college football game.
Offensive linemen Cordy Glenn and Ben Jones, defensive back Brandon Boykin and punter Drew Butler have been selected for the 2012 Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala.
The Senior Bowl is set for 4 p.m. Jan. 28 and will be broadcast on the NFL Network.

The Georgia women’s basketball team is liking 2012 so far.
The No. 17 Lady Dogs rained 3-pointers on Arkansas all day long Sunday to top the Razorbacks 67-57 in Athens in the SEC opener for both teams.
