7. Clemson Tigers
Is Clemson back? Who knows, but a lot of people throughout the country are naming Clemson their No. 1 team in the country entering this season.
The Tigers are one of the top programs in the country over the last decade, but the last few years they have not been a threat to win it all. Sure they made the playoff last season, but no one thought they stood a chance to win four games in a row en route to their third title under Dabo Swinney.
That however isn’t the case this season as some are predicting Clemson to be their National Champion.
Regardless of if that’s realistic or not, Clemson is one of two teams in the ACC worth mentioning this season. So it would be very surprising if they weren’t playing for an ACC Championship and in the 12-team CFP field at the end of the season as well.
So similarly to Oregon, if they are in the playoff and get matched up with Georgia, they could undoubtedly knock the Bulldogs off.
