The NFL Draft is right around the corner, and that means it is time for the Senior Bowl. The Senior Bowl is one of the most exciting events in the offseason because college football fans get to see their favorite players compete against each other one last time before they are officially off to the NFL.
Seven Georgia football stars were invited to the Senior Bowl and five will be participating in the game on Saturday. The game however is only half of the fun as the Senior Bowl practices throughout the week shed a lot of light on who is trending up heading into the NFL Draft.
And it just so happens that two Bulldogs were voted as stand out players by their peers.
Trevor Etienne and Dan Jackson
The first player that received a great honor at the end of the Senior Bowl practices is running back Trevor Etienne, who was voted as the top running back at the Senior Bowl.
On top of that, safety and Georgia fan favorite Dan Jackson was also voted as the top safety at the Senior Bowl as well.
A lot of people might not realize just how impressive this is for both Etienne and Jackson. For starters, all of the players at the Senior Bowl are the best of the best from college football. So it's not like they were better than average college football players, they were better than the best the sport has to offer.
On top of that, this honor was voted on by the players Etienne and Jackson were going up against in practice all week. The linebackers and safeties voted Etienne as the most impressive running back while the wide receivers and tight ends voted Jackson as the best safety. It's one thing for analysts to say nice things about Georgia's players, but for the guys these two went up against to recognize them both like this is really special.
Both Jackson and Etienne will be drafted in the NFL Draft later this summer. It's tough to know where either player will be heading, but there's no need to worry as Georgia fans will be able to watch both continue their careers in the NFL next year.
