1st Enemy of the Blog — Andrea Adelson

In a bit of old news, Adelson who writes for the Olrando Sentinel, ranked UGA at No. 64 in her run down of the 120 Division-1 college football teams. While there was an uproar across UGA blogs and Orlando Sentinel readers the day the ranking came out, now things are just now getting comical: No. 63: Ole Miss, No. 62: Miss St, No. 61: UCLA, No. 60: Arizona St,  No. 59: Clemson, and No. 58 South Florida. Let’s ignore that only two of those teams had more wins than UGA last year (Ole Miss and Clemson — each with 9) and that the entire SEC West will be ranked higher than UGA…but UCLA, Arizona St, and South Florida? My God.

But the most amazing new development is who she ranks at No. 57. That would be Texas A&M. Like Arizona St, UGA beat Texas A&M last year. Forgive me, I meant clobbered them by 24 points. A&M actually finished with a losing record. In her most recent college football live chat, she claimed that UGA doesn’t have anybody as good as Von Miller on defense and she expects big things from Jerrod Johnson. Even though the Dawgs beat Miller and Johnson in the Independence Bowl AND that the A&M defense finished 104th nationally in total defense, she ranks A&M higher.

Adelson is making sexism seem logical. It’ll be interesting to see how the remaining 56 teams play out.
