Recently the Orlando Sentinel named Northern Illinois #49 and Troy #48 in their preseason college football countdown that Andrea Adelson spearheads. Georgia checked in at a palty #64. If I was ranking sports writers, I might rank Adelson at #1064.
In 2009, the two teams went a combined 16-10 with only a single win against a BCS conference opponent. That opponent was Purdue, who went 5-7 and missed a bowl game.
Oh, and Troy was 0-2 against SEC teams losing by a combined score of 112-26. The fact that Adelson gets paid for this analysis still boggles my mind…and makes me more confident about my financial future.
