The first big injury of the preseason has happened in an off the field accident. Linebacker Akeem Dent had toe surgery this morning. Â Reports of how Dent was injured have not been reported.
Dent emerged from Spring practice as the No. 1 Strong Side Inside Linebacker. This injury is expected to keep him off the field for probably the entire preseason . Sophomore Michael Gilliard is No. 2 on the depth chart behind Dent and will seemingly step up into the starting spot.
