A Georgia BullDawg Dream

I say to you today, my friends, that in spite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the BullDawg dream.

I have a dream that one day this BullDawg football team and coaching staff will rise up and live out the true meaning of its heritage: “We hold these truths to be self-evident: that the Georgia BullDawgs shall kick the ass of South Carolina; shall kick the ass of Tennessee; shall kick the ass of Florida; shall kick the ass of Auburn; shall kick the ass of Vanderbilt; shall kick the ass of Kentucky, and shall kick the ass of Georgia Tech on a regular basis.”

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to play on this football team together in perfect harmony, as a team, without either being arrested and put in the “pokey” for various misdemeanors and felonies on a weekly basis. 

I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day the University of Alabama, whose coach’s lips are presently dripping with the thoughts of whooping the ass of either the Florida Gators or the South Carolina GameCocks in Atlanta come December, will be transformed into a situation where our little BullDawg boys and girls will be able to join hands with little Crimson Tide boys and girls and walk together into the SEC playoff game as bitter rivals ready to kick each other’s ass for that Sugar Bowl Prize, instead of some other team.

Yes, I have a dream.

Unfortunately, I just awoke from my lovely dream to the ‘NIGHTMARE” that the BullDawg Nation is now experiencing! What are we going to do about it? What would you do about it, IF YOU HAD THE POWER? I have my thoughts which will follow in my future blogs.
