Today’s blog, which would have normally been written late last night, shall be a few quick informational hits. We are traveling for the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday. So, just pretend you’re getting those small little Reese’s Pieces for Halloween.
Liberty Bowl Bound? From all reports, the Liberty Bowl has said to Georgia, “Beat Georgia Tech to get your six wins, and you have an invite!” Is it a toilet bowl? Well, yes, but not as big a “crapper” as Shreveport, Louisiana. At least this one is in Memphis, Tennessee home of great music and BBQ. The players and fans will enjoy what Memphis has to offer, and I think will get a lot larger Dawg following, than if we again ended up in the Independence Bowl. I know this sounds like I am giving disrespect to these smaller bowls, but really I am not. This is simply a comparison to the bigger bowls in the venues that have a lot more fun stuff to do from a fan’s point of view. So, yes I would rather be in New Orleans than Shreveport, and yes I would rather be in Tampa or Orlando than Atlanta. Wouldn’t you? Of course, if we had a better bowl that would have meant a lot better season for the Dawgs as well. One goes hand in hand with the other.
Should I stay or should I go? Great lyrics for a great old song? Or the thought process for A.J. Green. After being interviewed about this issue, A.J. went off in all kind of directions: 1) If mama wants me to stay and get my degree now, I need to do what mama wants me to do 2) I can get my degree after I go pro 3) Yes, I feel I have something to prove to myself and the fans due to missing the first four games 3) Yes, the salary cap could come into play 4) Yes, a possible lock out in the NFL if the Union Contracts are not resolved by March, certainly would play into it. All of this is paraphrased from actual quotes of Mr. Green. What we can take from this is: 1) He will not announce until after the NFL contract deadline; 2) If there is a lockout he will stay for his senior year at Georgia; and 3) If there is no lockout, A.J. Green is history. There is no point in listening to more B.S. that comes from him or the media. That is the bottom line.
Bowl projections also show the Gators will be going to the “Gator Bowl.” How appropriate! By the way did I ever tell you that Florida “Sucks” and I hate them? If not, then let me tell you that Florida “sucks” and I hate them. (source of all the above: Bleacher Report.Com)
