The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that Aaron Murray had two good pain free practices in a row this week, and that Coach Mark Richt expects Murray to play Saturday against the “evil bee people.” The most serious of his injuries in the Auburn game was a bruised sternum. However, Murray stated when interviewed that the sternum injury took place early in the Auburn game and that he was able to play through almost the entire game with it, so if it is aggravated against Tech he doesn’t see why he couldn’t play through it again. The AJC quoted Aaron as saying, “I don’t care if I had a broken leg, I’m going to play in this game.” Aaron, you’re a brave, tough young man, for luck “break a leg!” But pleeeeeeeeeeeeease, not literally! We are going to need you out there on that field scoring mucho points to stay ahead of Tech, because although there is always hope, our Defense is probably not going to be able to stop their option. Murray and a few Georgia players went on a scouting expedition last Saturday in Atlanta. They bought tickets at the gate and went in to watch the Yellow Jackets play Duke. Aaron was accompanied by his posse including linebacker, Christian Robinson wide receivers Kris Durham, Tavarres King and Rhett McGowan, offensive lineman Chris Davis, snapper Ty Frix and kicker Brandon Bogotay. They sat in the lower level at the start and finish of the game and in the upper deck for the middle portions. Murray stated watching Tech’s “D” live was different than watching cut up game clips, and it gave him better insight watching them move and shift around before the plays initiate. Mark Richt, upon hearing of Murray and company’s plan to attend the game, said it made him happy they cared enough to take the extra effort to go check out Tech on their week off. It of course begs the question, unless there is some rule against it, which I am not aware of, Mark, uhhhhhhhhhh, why didn’t you go with them? If anybody needs to check out the competition ahead of time, that would be YOU!
