HAS THE RECRUIT BLEEDING STOPPED? WR SANFORD SEAY COMMITS!

Lee County, Georgia, wide receiver, Sanford Seay, officially committed to Georgia Thursday with Coaches Mike Bobo and Tony Ball present at his High School. (source: berniesdawgblog.blogspot.com).  Seay said in regard to committing, “I’m excited and I’m happy,”. “That’s the school I wanted to go to, the only major college that was looking at me at the time. It’s a good school. I liked the coaches.”  The 6’ 2”, 190 pound, wide receiver, also had offers from Marshall, South Alabama and Louisiana Tech, but his coach, Lee County coach Dean Fabrizio thinks that list will grow now that he has a test score that makes it more likely he will qualify academically.  Seay had 68 catches for 1,105 yards and 15 touchdowns his senior year.  “It’s rare that you find a kid with that kind of size that has the kind of speed,” Fabrizio said. “He’s a vertical threat. He’s a big, fast kid that can really stretch the field.” Seay grew up friends with Georgia’s new receiver commitment, Justin Scott-Wesley from Mitchell County.  They talked after Georgia gave Seay an offer.  “He gave me a phone call the other day and we had a brief little conversation,” Seay said. “He sounded excited on the phone. He said, ‘What are you waiting for?’ “(source: bleacherreport.com).

On a slightly negative report, UGA has revoked the football scholarship offer to Booker T. Washington WR/DB Zack Witchett, who had been committed to the Bulldogs since last summer. His coach, Stanley Pritchett, stated that Witchett was suspended three games for violating undisclosed team rules his senior season. Georgia was made aware of the situation at the time. “The [suspension] was the big thing to Georgia, and then there were some character things that kept coming up that I really can’t discuss,” Pritchett said, citing privacy laws. “It was a combination of things over a period of time … up until November.”  “[Ball] said they were going to revoke the offer,” Pritchett said. “They said Georgia couldn’t take a chance on a guy that they didn’t know whether or not he could stay out of trouble and contribute to the team next year.” (source: bleacherreport.com)

Well we now have two great wide receiver recruits who could play right away and help fill the gap A.J. Green leaves.  What we need now is a “go to” back that can make enough yards in a game to keep the defenses honest and open up the passing game.  As in a certain RB from Columbus, Georgia!  Crowell still is keeping mum on where he will commit until signing day.  What is not a good sign is that unlike before, when he claimed that he had narrowed his choice between Alabama and Georgia, he has now added Auburn as a possibility.  So, is he just throwing us a red herring to build up the hype to signing day, or is he lured by playing for a team that has made it to the National Championship?  Who the hell knows!  He could have the last laugh and sign with Tennessee or Florida. Ouch!
