Bulldogs lose the opener

Georgia Bulldogs lost 35-21 to Boise St last night in the Chick-fil- A kickoff. Georgia started out well on defense and got on the board first on a 80 yard run by Brandon Boykin.
Boise State then scored 4 times before the Bulldogs would score again. Boise State’s quarterback Kellen Moore threw 3 touchdown passes to break the game wide open. Kellen Moore’s longest touchdown pass was a 17 yards pass to Matt Miller to tie the game at 7.
Kellen Moore had a good night, he threw for 261 yards and had 28/34 completions. On the other side of the ball, Boise St defense was stymie. Jerrell Gavins of Boise St had an interception and Shea McClellin had 2 sacks on the night.
Aaron Murray threw for 236 yards with 2 touchdown passes and an interception. He completed 16 out of 29 completions, but was sacked 5 times. The new freshmen running back Isaiah Crowell rushed for 60 yards on 15 attempts.
Boise State scored every quarter, while Georgia scored every quarter except for the 2nd quarter.
Georgia tried to make a comeback late in the 4th but could not because of a tough defense of Boise State. Not one player from either school had a 100 yard rusher on the night.
It was a long night for the Bulldogs. Next week they will be home in Athens to face their first conference game. They will be hosting South Carolina Gamecocks.
