Well there were some good news today, CB Brandon Boykin was named the Paul Hornung Award Weekly Honor Roll for the second straight week. Brandon Boykin had 184 kickreturning yards, 2 tackles, one interception, and rushed for 14 yards on two carries in Saturday’s loss to South Carolina.
Isaiah Crowell was named SEC Co-Freshman of the week for his touchdown against South Carolina. Despite the fumble that caused the Gamecocks to score a defensive touchdown; Isaiah Crowell played a good game with 118 yards rushing and a touchdown to his credit.
OL Kenarious Gates will return to practice this week, he missed the South Carolina game due to an ankle sprain.
Now the bad news, Christian Robinson the defensive linebacker will miss a couple of games due to a foot injury. Christian Robinson has played well in the first two games, led the team in tackles. He hurt his foot in Saturday’s game. Georgia is already without Alec Ogletree, now they will have to rely on senior walk-on Jeremy Sulek, freshmen Amarlo Herrera and Ramik Wilson. The defensive line is now thinning and hurting.
With this week’s opponent, Georgia cannot afford to take Coastal Carolina lightly. If Georgia wants to compete for the SEC East title they will have start by not overlooking Coastal Carolina.
